Marymount College

Tate, Teacher and friends posing on last week of Grade 12

Marymount was the school i went to from Grade 3 to Grade 12. I loved how close the community was and the friends it provided me with. Grade 12 was very much a highlight of my life and thanks to Marymount it was an amazing and flawless experience. I even have several friends who went to Marymount who ended up studying at SCU with me that i regularly study with. I finished my education at this school with 7 principle awards for academic excellence and 1 subject dux. I absolutely loved my teachers, particularly my digital solutions teacher who was one of my reasons to study this course. If i had to go back to high school i would choose Marymount again in a heart beat.

My High School Subjects

Aquatic Practice

Aquatic Practices was my only non-atar subject, which meant i treated it as a time to relax and enjoy time with my friends. In this subject we had the opportunity to go to the beach every week as a class and learn how to surf, fish, snorkel and drive boats!

Business

I found business to be a very natural subject for me as i grew up around my parents creating and growing their own business. I learned valuable lessons in how businesses can be run and what to do if problems appear. I found this subject to help in many other aspects of my life and in other subjects. The teachers i had in the subject were my favourite as they were very young and relatable. (Which was very rare at my school)

Digital Solutions

Digital Solutions was a very important subject to me as it taught me how to code basic websites! I loved the subject and the content that it provided so much that i decided to study Information Technology at SCU! I loved how small my class was and how we would all work on problems together as a team, especially when we had to study for the external exam at the end of grade 12 which was supposed to be extremely hard.

General Maths

Maths was a very challenging subject for me as a grade 12 student. Usually i would leave maths as last priority for study as i was not very confident that i would get a good result at the end of the year. Turns out i would actually do fairly well and get above 70 percent overall.

General English

Similar to Maths, i was not very good at english. By far the most challenging exam in grade 12 was the external exam on Macbeth, a Shakespeare play written in old english. Just like maths i thought i wouldn't achieve well but again i got above 70 percent, which i was happy with.

Study of Religion

By far the most interesting subject i did was Study of Religion, this subject was mandatory to do at my catholic school but didn't stop at just teaching Christianity. Overall i closely studied Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Christianity, which gave me an idea on how faith across the globe works.

Thanks for looking at my school page!
